Kamloops is big sky country, blessed with an abundance of sunshine and outdoor recreational opportunities. The surrounding landscape encompasses sandstone canyons, grasslands and evergreen timberlands. A wonderful place to spend the afternoon is the BC Wildlife Park, where you can walk the trails and spot interesting species like boreal owls, singing hermit thrush and chattering red squirrels. Golfers will love the diversity of the area’s 13 spectacular courses and the extra long golf season that extends from mid-March through to October. Fishing is also favorite pastime with over 100 lakes and two major rivers close by.

For those who enjoy live theatre, music and the visual arts, Kamloops has it all. Performances, concerts and festivals are held year round. There are many art galleries and two excellent museums worth exploring. Take a step back in time with a ride on the steam train or a walking tour of the heritage homes. Enjoy the attractions of Riverside Park, in the heart of downtown Kamloops. It has a beautiful Rotary Rose Garden, picnic area, lawn bowling, and a lovely trail that meanders along the water’s edge.

As the fourth largest municipality in British Columbia outside of the Lower Mainland, Kamloops has all the amenities of a major metropolitan centre, including shopping malls, movie cinemas, day spas, and plenty of sidewalk cafes, pubs and restaurants.
